I don’t know why nautical things are so attractive to me. It’s something about the big blue ocean, boats sailing by, and the life under the sea that really excites me. There are things under the ocean that no one has seen which can seem creepy to many but to me it’s fascinating. There is always something new to learn, something new to discover, or something new to see.
If you ask me where I want to go, I will always want to go somewhere near the ocean. This weekend’s adventures of course brought us exactly there. We became tourists for a day and ended up on Pier 39 in San Francisco as well as the Fisherman’s Wharf. These are two major attractions to the city so of course it was very busy, but so worth it.
San Francisco is a city with so much history and architecture behind it, it is a city with so much to see. Living 30 minutes away is an added perk to our move from Canada. We decided to arrive by ferry this time because our last experience with driving in was hectic and short due to heavy traffic and no parking. I definitely recommend taking the ferry, it is cheap, quick, and fun.
When we arrived at the dock, we were surrounded by the beautiful views of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Coit Tower. The rush of the speed boats passing by and the calm of the sailboats floating near was a great feeling added to an already perfect Saturday.
